Main Objectives of the Partnership
Implementation of viable clean decentralized energy systems world-wide adapted to the local renewable energy resources as appropriate:
- Wind power in good wind situations like Black Sea area, Patagonia etc.
- Hydropower in suitable hydrological areas in Balkan region, Asia etc.
- Waste and biomass-to-energy & clean recycling systems
- Solar Energy as hybrid systems integrated in roofs and facades
- Geothermal Power and Heat production (co-generation)
- Clean Fuel Systems, decentralized for fossil fuel substitution
Expected Results
Substitution of 50 % of all risky, polluting energy systems by 2020
and complete substitution by 2030 world-wide. Stabilization of the macro and micro climates and regeneration of all biospheres, inland waters, seas. Stop of man-made global warming causing melting glaciers, ice caps and rising ocean levels. Avoidance of further lung and coronary diseases and cancer caused by energy pollution.
Specific Targets and Time Frames
- Conversion of gas stations to clean fuels and battery charging 2015
- Substitution of all coal and petroleum fired power stations 2020
- Substitution of all natural gas fired power stations 2025
- Substitution of all nuclear power stations 2030
Coordination and Implementation
The Mechanisms to meet these targets are
- Ratification of the Global Charter for Sustainable Development
- Introduction of necessary anti-pollution and low-risk legislation
- Incentives to replace inefficient energy systems by lean systems
- Redirection of financing to clean, sustainable energy systems
- Tax relieves for cleaner, sustainable energy systems
- Efficient international know-how transfer
- Education and training for efficient, sustainable energy use
- Improved integrated resource planning and recording
Arrangements for Funding
Cooperation with GEF, World Bank, IBRD, EIB, Funds,
UNDP, UNIDO, tax money, private and local investors
Monitoring Arrangements
Joint private and official supervision and recording of progress
Other relevant Information
Create, improve and apply relevant ISO and IEC clean energy standards to facilitate this epochal task effectively and efficiently
