Hopes for a happier New Year without tragedies, destruction and waste

The new Millennium could not have started worst than with what we witnessed in 2001. How can we stop abuses of modern technology ? Can sick brains full of hatred be healed ? Can the wasteful behavior and degeneration of modern society be cured and bad habits be remedied ? Can the depletion of natural resources and the destruction of the natural diversity be halted ?

This newsletter is giving you some insights, guidance and hope on how to make a better future than the disastrous past centuries and how to avoid deadly shocks as we experienced lately.

Modern Technology will progress further at an accelerated pace due to the breathtaking advances in computer assisted development methods and world data exchanges. Good so, if it is not technology for destruction. But how can human beings make real intelligent use of it ? What sense makes technically perfect audiovisual telecommunication, if it is abused for mental pollution with frightening crime scenes and stupid gun films, sexual perversion and imbecile shows ? Can we cope with the billions of Internet and e-mail informations without becoming addicted to monitor screen watching ? Mankind must develop more common sense for the use of modern technology. The Earth is becoming a "global brain", but hopefully a sensible one.

Human Brain research should come on top of all government and university research priorities. Wars, crimes, obsessions, addictions, hatred and perversions, but also genius, arts, love and ethics all originate from human brains. Suicide terrorism and murder can only be avoided by finding good ways to remove hatred from the brains of militant people and intolerant groups. Blind speculation and gambling with the savings or inheritances into bankruptcy and poverty originate from sick brains too, which often are destroying prosperity and family happiness.

Human Waste of energy, resources, time and money is one of the ills of "modern" society. How can some people claim to have the right to consume twenty times more energy than those on the other side of our planet, by squandering our precious finite mineral resources on Earth ? Does it make sense to change from winter to summer time and vice versa, thus upsetting travel itineraries from region to region and forcing busy people to adjust several dozen watches and clocks in their cars, PCs, kitchen appliances twice a year for no sensible reason ?

World Consensus to find answers to all above burning questions is urgently needed if we want to survive happily on our planet Earth ! The need for more character education should become one of the top priorities of the United Nations Education and Science Committee UNESCO and all national, regional and local educational institutions and NGOs. Human character education above religious dogmas is a long overdue world-wide task, if we do not want to see more of these endless immoralities, quarrels, riots and killings between ethnic and religious groups !

Another urgent task is the prohibition of any deadly arms and chemical and biologic warfare. Fire-arms are only justified in the hands of peace-keeping forces, police and maybe for those who are trustworthy to go for licensed animal hunting. There must be a global consensus that any deadly arms must be locked up in future by law and supervised by certified custodians.

Halting the abuse of natural resources for wasteful, polluting energy production is another high priority, since clean, efficient energy sources and technologies are abundantly available now to replace all polluting energy systems, to avoid the disastrous global warming, health perils and biosphere degradations at a dramatic pace of no-return. Implement the Global Energy Charter !

Good news is the EURO, which ends currency speculations and devaluation losses in Europe. The next step must be a world standard currency to stop further abuses by exchange dealers, greedy speculators and politicians who are using money for unsocial play games, pushing poor countries and world-export dependent companies into misery by their unethical dealings !
